Report: Hacking go the holeshot over Bostrom and Roberts. Eric passed Hacking into 3, who was then paased by Roberts on the second lap.
Duhamel crashed and remounted on lap 3.

Roberts shot out to a 10 bike length lead when he crashed going into the
hairpin on lap 8. Hacking and Bostrom traded the lead several times until
Bostrom let up. Hacking was a daredevil in traffic and pulled a comfortable margin. Laptimes were in the 56 second range.

Tommy Hayden held third at the midway point of the race. Yates took fourth after he passed Buckmaster.

Roberts was charging from 20th and was up to 12th by mid-race. He was
running laps in the low 57, high 56 ranges. He was the fastest man on the track

Pridmore and Hayes also passed the fading Buckmaster.

Hacking ran a brilliant race, pulling away the entire distance.

Hayes and Zemke let Roberts pass on the last lap.

Points: Bostrom 247, Roberts 239. Tommy Hayden moves into third with 217, ahead of Yates and Hacking, tied with 216.
