Tommy Hayden Yamaha Third place
"Definitely didn't want to wait until this race to get on the podium. I was pretty much in fourth, clear of the leaders. I never was in the middle of it, but it looked like what happened to Kurtis could have happened three or four times to one of those guys those first few laps."

Eric Bostrom Kawasaki Second place
"Going into this race I anticipated everyone would be going fast. Jamie went by, and I wasn't having any part of that. When Kurtis crashed it was like, 'that could have happened to any of us.' I figured I just better mellow out a little. There was a chance the same would happen to me if I was running up there with Jamie."
"It was a relief that Kurtis got back up, but I am glad to get the championship lead."

"I'll be on the Superbike at Willow for sure. We are trying to win on that one too. In one respect it hurts you to do two classes but in others it helps you with your set-up."

Jamie Hacking Yamaha First place
"I believe last year I could have given Yamaha the win here, but that was last year and this is this year. But I had to come back and re-prove myself. I feel I am a much better rider this year, more calmed down. I just rode the lappers really good. I was just confident, and I went through the lappers like butter. I was surprised to see the margin going up and up, but I feel I am riding really well."

"On the start I dropped back to third, because I wanted to see what was going on. I knew Kurtis wanted to run away, and Eric didn't want to let him. I was sizing that up. But first I wanted to win the holeshot award! (Hacking laughs, but the joke is on him. There is no Supersport holeshot award.) I knew it was a long race, and then Kurtis fell. I knew Eric relaxed, and I knew I could get by him if I had to."

"I'm not in the championship race, although I'd like to be. Despite the crash at Daytona, I've been doing well. I took my worst track at Mid Ohio and made the best out of it and I had been doing great all year."
