Oliver Notches up Career Number 48

Mr. Richard Oliver won the AMA MBNA 250 GP today at PPIR, putting in another devastating performance that left his younger and in some cases better financed competition reeling.
Oliver holeshotted from the second row, had a two bike lead out of the first corner and held a 12 second lead at the mid-race point. The final margin was 19.814 seconds. This was career 250 win number 48 for Oliver.

Oliver lapped everyone up to sixth place. Championship leader Sorenson was the best of the rest, finishing second, ahead of Mike Barnes, Chris Ulrich and Derek King. Quokka-boy Nick Ienatsch finished sixth, a pretty decent run for not having raced since 41BC. Oh all right, it was last year.

From the hopeless romantic yet efficient team owner department: Oliver proposed to his mechanic girlfriend Jocelyn, on one knee, in the grandstand this morning (Awwww) ...

"She is turning into an awesome mechanic," Oliver said.
