KISS: Bostrom uses conventional Dunlop to win PPIR Superbike

Kawasaki's Eric Bostrom used a simple approach to his race today, using a conventional Dunlop radial tire, although he could have used one of the high-tech dual-compound tires like some of his competitors did.
The Kawasaki rider gambled on the tire which most believed would not last the race distance. The track surface was 52 degrees Celsius, according to Dunlop tire services. "I was on the single compound tire," said Bostrom. "We had been struggling on the dual compound."

Eric had not won a Superbike race since Pikes Peak two seasons ago. "It's been a long season for us being off the top of the box, but we've feel like we've been making progress. After we muscled our way through the first turn, Mat took a few shots at me but couldn't make it stick. I didn't know actually how much speed we had on the back straight, but the tires were feeling really good. It was a roll of the ice, but we didn't have as much to lose as these guys, so it made my job less stressful."
