Roadracers get dirty
by dean adams

A number of riders from the star-studded AMA Superbike tour will be racing this weekend. But it won't be on asphalt.
Honda ace Nicky Hayden, his younger brother Roger Lee, and Ducati's Larry Pegram will all be racing their Harley-Davidson motorcycles this Saturday night at Hagerstown, a half mile AMA Grand National dirt track race in Maryland.

Hayden and Pegram are former dirt track winners, a rarity on the Superbike scene today. Pegram won a mile and a half mile race in the early 1990s, and Hayden won a dirt track last year.

Hayden will fly from the Daytona Dunlop test where he is testing new Dunlop tires to MD to partake in the Grand National.

Pegram raced last weekend at Pikes Peak, will race the dirt track this weekend and goes to Pocono for the FUSA event (webcast on formulausa.com) next weekend. Pegram equaled his best finish of the season last weekend at Pikes and is looking to try and take that momentum to both the dirt track and the F-USA race.
