Ducati Corse, Aprilia and others are testing at Valencia today where world champion Troy Bayliss tangled with another rider on the track but lived to tell the tale.
Quotes from Ducati Corse:
"It wasn't such a good day today because I think we needed a bit more heat in the track", declared Bayliss. "I set my time on race tires but couldn't get a run on a qualifying tire because of an incident with a slower rider late in the afternoon. I was passing him on the outside of the long fast left-hander when he came up on me, I got into a big wobble and he went down. My leathers were all ripped open but I'm OK.
"My collarbone is now perfect, but it's strange that when I came here before and was unfit, I recorded a much quicker time. It must be because of the cold".
Bostrom (Ducati L&M) was feeling the effects of his recent shoulder operation, a three-day Kyalami test and a successful weekend of supermotard and kart racing at the Bologna Motor Show and was not entirely 100% fit, but the 27-year-old Californian still managed to record the second-quickest time of the day in 1'35.90 after going out onto the track late morning.
"I didn't feel strong enough to do more than 2 or 3 laps in succession", said Bostrom. "We got some good tire testing done today and tried a few other things. I really didn't feel much up to riding today, I just hope I feel better and can get moving tomorrow, because I know that if I am healthy, I can do an incredible time here".
