Death of the Sprinkler Myth

According to Gary Van Voorhis, operations manager for the Speedway (former cycle news editor, et al) the reason the racetrack was wet this morning was not because the track sprinklers had sprayed water upon it, but because the banking is shaded from the sun in spots, and it takes a while, even with a track dryer, to dry the overnight water accumulation from it.
