It's pretty big news, that the Harris brothers get the toss after three long and agonizing years of  floundering like drowning men.

SUZUKI ANNOUNCES NEW FACTORY TEAM FOR
1999 SUPERBIKE WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP AND SUPERSPORT WORLD SERIES
TEAM SUZUKI ALSTARE
 
Suzuki Motor Corporation has selected TEAM SUZUKI ALSTARE as the official Suzuki team for the 1999 Superbike World Championship.
 
Fabrizio Pirovano of Team Alstare won the 1998 Supersport World Series on the Suzuki GSX-R600, enabling Suzuki to take the manufacturer's title for the series. Suzuki decided to sign this highly successful Team Alstare as official team for both Superbike World Championship and Supersport World Series in the 1999 races. Suzuki's three years race support contract with Harris Performance expires on Oct.31, 1998.
 

WORLD SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP
Suzuki Motor Corporation will supply Team Alstare with works machines / equipment and technical / financial support.  The team will consist of two riders, to be announced later.

Machine: GSX-R750
This machine proved itself with a number of superb performances in the 1998 Superbike World Championship, culminating in a magnificent showing in the final SUGO Japan Round where it took 1st and 2nd places.
 

SUPERSPORT WORLD SERIES
The team will be organised as in 1998 and compete in all races of the series.  Riders will be Fabrizio Pirovano(1998 Champion) and Stephane Chambon.
