Del Mar Spy Report

AMASuperbike.com spies at last night's Del Mar Mile report that:
"
1) Roadracer Mike Hale tried in vain to make the main thru his semi. The top 2 transferred, but Mike was 5th...bummer

2) King Kenny Roberts put in a couple of "exhibition laps" aboard his old TZ750 flat tracker. He was flying!!! Didn't get any times on him, but he certainly looked fast enough to have run competitively in the Main. He was running up real high on the cushion thru 1-2 and 3-4 sending up a 200 foot long rooster tail off the back wheel. Kenny is still fast enough on a dirt tracker or a roadracer for
that matter to finish in the top 10 of anything he would enter (including  500 GP's).

3) Dirt track legend Jay Springsteen also did some "exhibition laps" aboard a similarly prepared TZ750 machine. After taking his obligatory 2-3 laps, he wanted to know if the AMA would let him ride it in the main. "
