Doohan Sighted @ LAX

AMASuperbike.com spies report that they sighted none other than multi-time World Champion Mick Doohan in the Continental Airlines terminal yesterday at the Los Angeles airport LAX.

Doohan told these spies that he was on his way to Japan for the Sugo race.

Japan is a eight hour flight from Australia, maybe less. It's about double that from the States. That's a *pretty* round-about way to get to Japan. If he was in Australia.

We'd like to think that Doohan was here formalize a deal with AmHon to ride an RC45 in the '99 Daytona 200 (fat chance).

He is known to spend some time each off-season in Miami incognito with his power-boat friends; perhaps it was a Miami to LAX to Narita flight?

Or, maybe he was here visiting Eddie, Kenny or Wayne?

Let your imagination run wild: Doohan to Yamaha? Or maybe he just wanted to go somewhere where he wouldn't be recognized by legions of GP mad fans (are there any?)? America has proven itself to be a great place for a 500cc world champion to disappear into obscurity.
