Sugo Superbike News
Tracy Hagen got into Sugo late and missed first qualifying. Walking to his hotel he ran into Slight and Edwards who told him the following:Edwards is on (provisional?) pole with a 1:30.3
Pole for the Sugo WSC race was a 1:30.1
A Japanese Kawasaki rider is second fastest
Okada is third, Itoh fourth.
Doohan is fifth, Slight sixth.
The tragic news is that Nori Haga's older brother, Kensuke Haga, crashed big time and is in very bad shape. There's no airfences for this race, but supposedly there were for the WSC round.
Want a definete indication that roadracing is taking a hit in Japan? With world champion Mick Doohan on the grid, the race won't even be seen in Japan on television, let alone in America.
