Finland, home of Nokia phones, lots of steam baths and the final resting spot of Jarno Saarinen. Also, it's the place where you can buy a can of soda pop by beaming your payment info into their 'smart' pop machines via cell phone, a fact that just seems to amaze some people, all of whom probably don't like to carry change.

Add one more detail to the Finland is Interesting Because List: it's also the place where they determine the amount of your fine for speeding by how much money you make, not how fast you were going.

Recently a Nokia exec nabbed a big fine for speeding on a motorcycle on one of the outer isles in Finland. 46 in a 31 in Finland when you make DuHamel-level money nets you a fine of $103,000.

More info is here.
