Edwards pitched his A bike to the sky in that session.
"It was a silly crash at the chicane," reported Edwards. "I was trying out a different front end setting and was convinced that it was the way to go. I felt so confident but I was only on my second lap and I went too quick too soon."
"The crash was my own fault and I know why it happened so there's no drama. It's a shame I lost the use of my number one machine for the rest of the session, that felt awesome whereas the second machine was just lacking that little bit of feel."
Edwards concluded: "I'm confident that I can go a lot quicker tomorrow. I'm still about half a second off the time I did at the test last month so we know there's more to come from the machine."
