Honda Pulls Out
of laguna test

American Honda's Superbike team has left the Laguna Seca test. They pulled out yesterday and drove back to Southern California, saying that they have too much work to do before the Fontana event next week.

Weather was good all day, and there are at least three different sets of times floating around from yesterday's laps. Some have Doug Chandler as fastest, some have Nick Hayden fastest; bottom line: no one has gone as fast as Anthony Gobert did at the first Laguna Seca test this year.

Mat Mladin did not put in many laps yesterday, in fact the whole Suzuki team did not put in many laps on their Superbikes yesterday. The team put the bikes in the tent in order to make major chassis changes before venturing out today.

There were several small crashes but nothing to write to Dr. Ting about.

Chandler continues to try to get slightly more comfortable on the Ducati. They swapped seats, pegs, shifters and more yesterday trying to get his lanky frame well within the comfort zone.

There are new engines to be installed, so if really fast-- 1:25 lap times--are to come for Chandler, today may be the day they do.
