An internal engine failure ended the 2002 Daytona 200 for the three time race winner Miguel DuHamel but a red-flag adjustment was the handling answer the rider and crew have been looking for, according to lead mechanic Al Ludington.
"During the red flag, we tried a change that Miguel liked and we think it's all come together for us now," said Ludington. "We can't wait 'til Fontana."
DuHamel thinks the rear shock change will put him back at the front after he struggled somewhat with the RC51 last season. "Tell the other guys to look out," Miguel said.
Could Miguel find the form that saw him win the next four races in a row after he crashed out of the 1998 Daytona 200? "We have been here before -- getting no points at Daytona -- but we've gotten back in the championship by mid-year," Ludington said.
