The happiest these riders ever are is when they are sitting astride two wheels - and it doesn't matter if it has a motor or not.

Many use "Pushies" (pedal bikes are called push bikes or pushies in Australia--Editor) as extra training with Bayliss on his tricked up beast at every opportunity, so it was a novelty event for them today to do a lap of the Island on bicycles.

As a bit of a WSC PR gig, a handful of the world's best shared the track with kids from a local school on the day before it all got serious with ex GP and Superbike pilot Kevin Magee stopping the throng at various parts around the track so riders could explain how they approach each corner.

While the various 'minders were worried that they were taking too much time to finsih the lap, the riders were loving it. As Bayliss said, "I don't know how many laps I've done around this place but doing this has given me a whole new perspective. When you are going fast you don't realise how much the camber changers as well as how steep it is in places. I really enjoyed it and I think the rest of them liked it as well."

Former world champion Colin Edwards II shared the same feelings; "It certainly gives you a different view of what this place is like. I really enjoyed it."
