Honda Happenings
by dean adams
Thursday, September 26, 2002

Sources close to Honda say that it appears that returning Superbike rider Ben Bostrom will work with Merlyn Plumlee in 2003; that seemed to be a question mark for a while with Kurtis Roberts in the mix to perhaps get to work with the famed ex tuner for Merkel, Hale, Chandler and Hayden.

On the subject of Hayden, those same sources say that Hayden's 2002 mechanic, Dan Fahie, may be going to Europe with him next season.

Danny Hull, who worked with Kurtis Roberts this year, and has taken time off from the racing scene before this after he worked with Scott Russell and Tommy Hayden at Kawasaki, has left Honda/Erion Honda. His plans for 2003 are unknown.

John Ethell, who worked as an engine builder for Miguel DuHamel this season, has left the factory Honda team and is said to be on his way to Erion Honda.

Honda execs declined to confirm or deny any of the above.
