Ex-world champion Troy Bayliss confirmed today that he will take "most" of his crew with him to Grand Prix next year when he races for Ducati in GP1.
"I'm taking most of my crew with me to GP1" Bayliss said in the second race press conference at Imola in regards to his 2003 GP efforts.
This is thought to mean that Senior technical manager Corrado Cechinelli, who has been the technical manager of Ducati Corse's WSC effort since 1999, will run the technical side of the Marlboro Ducati GP program, and many of Bayliss' mechanics will go with him as well.
Replacing Cechinelli at the Superbike effort will be Ernesto Marelli, who worked for years in America with the Vance and Hines Ducati team and as Ben Bostrom's crewchief this year in WSC.
It is expected that Corse Marketing manager Livio Suppo will run the Marlboro Ducati GP program on a day to day basis, reporting to Ducati race boss Claudio Domenicali. Suppo has already worked in Grand Prix before this as a marketing and sponsorship manager for several teams.
It is expected that current Ducati World Superbike team manager Davide Tardozzi will continue to run the WSC team, reporting to Paolo Ciabatti, Corse's chief marketing and strategy man.
