New Ducati Corse World Superbike rider Lorenzo Lanzi suffered a huge personal loss over the weekend when his father, Carlo Lanzi, died of a heart attack Saturday afternoon while they were trail-riding near Cesena, Italy.

The elder Lanzi was only 48 and a huge supporter of his son's racing career.
