Spies won both Superbike races in Birmingham
Barber is in the books, with one racer standing above the others this time. In fact, most everyone else suffered mixed fortunes at best. Here's our Super Seven:

1. Ben Spies, Yoshimura Suzuki -- Spies won his first Superbike pole and swept both Barber Superbike races. After the best weekend of his life, he now leads the Superbike points standings by virtue of earning maximum points on the weekend. The 21-year old out-dueled Mladin for Saturday's victory, then took charge of the Sunday race after Mladin crashed in the early laps.

2. Jamie Hacking, Yamaha -- Hacking was mad as a hornet after coming home second on Sunday in Supersport. That finish mirrored another close second in the Superstock race. Those results might not have been the victories he wanted, but it kept him in the lead in the 1000cc class. He's just eight behind in Supersport -- and the points leader just broke his leg.

3. Jason DiSalvo, Yamaha -- Jason won the Formula Xtreme race and the Superstock pole (giving him 10 Superstock poles in a row). He was forced to take a conservative third place in Superstock, though.

4. Miguel DuHamel, Honda -- Miggy finished second in Sunday's Superbike race, claiming he'd made a big find on bike setup to earn Honda's most competitive finish in quite a while. He was fourth on Saturday in Superbike.

5. Kurtis Roberts, M4 EMGO Suzuki -- Before Barber, Roberts was sitting at home with no ride. The son of King Kenny looked to be in career purgatory after a bad year in MotoGP in '04 followed by a terrible year in Superbike in '05. He got the call to race Michael Barnes' FX bike at Barber and Fontana and rode well in his first race. After qualifying fifth, he was a solid third when the checkered flag fell. His best race lap was four tenths quicker than he qualified, boding well for Fontana.

6. Kawasaki -- The Team Green riders were the hard luck boys this weekend. Rog Hayden won the Supersport race (extending his streak to five in a row) but crashed out of both Superbike races. The second crash broke two bones in his leg. And yes, the next round is this weekend. Tommy Hayden had the line on a podium in Superbike on Sunday after running as high as second, but a pass by Aaron Yates ended with a collision that sent them both reeling. Some good things happened (like both bikes qualifying on the Superbike front row), but they left 'Bama a bit disconsolate.

7. Aaron Yates, Suzuki -- Yates had a great charge in Saturday's Superstock race as the bike with the number one plate vaulted from fourth place to eventually pass leader Jamie Hacking for the win. Yates chose the right tire and then made it happen in the race. But Superbike was a different story. He crashed out of third on Saturday. On Sunday, his overly optimistic last lap pass attempt of Tommy Hayden for third sent both riding into the marbles, lucky to finish.
