Okay, you can stop sending us links on this.

Apparently a young man that plays football professionally lived every motorcyclists' worst nightmare today when a car turned left in front of him on a busy street and he did a nasty face-digger right into that American sheet-metal.

Pro football players make enormous sums of money (or so I am told) thus this cat could probably afford any helmet he desires—probably even an Arai—yet he chose not to wear one, reportedly because it made him feel "more free".

Only a cynic would point out that this football playing fellow will wear a helmet on the football field, but he won't when tooling around on his Hayabusa on the street. And by only a cynic I mean John Ivy. Actually, I mean me.

With this much bad bike PR around, assuredly the Discover Today's Motorcycling crew are flying into action. Industry fat cats can expect an invite to an expensive dinner/brunch at a swank restaurant in Monterey to discuss this incident, one in which 99% of the grunts who do actual work in the motorcycle industry will neither be invited to, nor know of its existence.

All kidding aside this incident is exactly what the motorcycle industry does not need.

If there are any mainstream reporters reading this, keep this in mind: Michael Jordan wears a helmet every time he rides, we're told.
