The Mladin we all know was back at Road America
1. Mat Mladin, Yoshimura Suzuki -- Who else? The six-time champ responded to the Spies momentum swing at Road America, not only winning pole and both Superbike races but doing it with authority. Mladin built up speed during the weekend, culminating in a shocking set of laps after the red flag on Sunday that saw him nearly 0.8 faster than his pole lap. Mladin cut Ben Spies' championship lead to 21 after nine races.

2. Jamie Hacking, Yamaha -- After five races, Hacking leads both Supersport and Superstock championships. No one has won both titles in the same year since Doug Polen did it in 1988. Hacking was second in Superstock and won the Supersport race in Elkhart and even kept it upright through turn one (a noted trouble spot for him) every single time. Ponder this ? Hacking has been first or second in all ten of his races this year.

3. Eric Bostrom, Yamaha -- Bostrom won his third FX race in a row on the factory R6 in Elkhart, once again closing in on teammate Jason DiSalvo's points lead in the process. EBoz is on fire in one of those fabled Bostrom hot streaks, one of those where the lap times and wins just seem to come easy to him.

4. Aaron Yates, Yoshimura Suzuki -- With a victory in Superstock, Yates kept up his mark of being on the box in every 'Stock event in 2006. Yates has a great battle going on with Hacking in the class.

5. Ben Spies, Yoshimura Suzuki -- Spies didn't continue his win streak at Road America, but at least he beat everyone but Mat Mladin. Most importantly, Spies didn't do anything stupid at Elkhart like throwing it away trying to keep up with the faster rider and Spies minimized the damage to his points cushion. Ben still leads the championship by 21 heading into Utah.

6. Jake Zemke, Honda -- Zemke earned two podiums in Superbike at Elkhart, finishing 14 seconds off the lead the first time and seven the second race. Zemke and Honda are making progress (his teammate DuHamel actually led off the start this weekend) but still have a ways to go to catch the top two Suzukis.

7. Josh Herrin, Graves Yamaha -- One minute you're in the tenth grade, the next competing in the top ten in an AMA National. Herrin, who just turned 16, was sixth in his first AMA race, topping riders like Buckmaster, Eslick, Ben Attard, etc. Watch this kid.
