Multi-time world champion racer Mike Hailwood was born on May 2nd and would have been 66 this year. Hailwood died in a car accident in 1981.

The only man in history to put a Harley-Davidson VR 1000 on the pole, Chris Carr, turned 39 on May 6.

Ervin "Erv" Kanemoto, considered by many to be the best GP tuner in history, turned 63 on May 7.

Ben Bostrom turned 32 also on May 7.

Suzuki GP rider John Hopkins will turn 23 on May 22.

Multi-time racing champion and five-time Daytona 200 winner Miguel DuHamel will turn 39 on May 26.

Soup columnist and racer Roger Lee Hayden will turn 23 on May 30.

And, in an unrelated to May birthdays note, according to my data, dirt track tuner Shell Thuett--who tuned bikes for Kenny Roberts, Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and many, many others--will be 94 in July.

As of last year, Thuett was still building dirt track engines in his shop.
