Formula Extreme is heating up as the season closes in on June. Team-mates Eric Bostrom and Jason DiSalvo appear to be ready to duke this thing out all season long if need be. Infineon's FX race gave visual hints that this could remain fun to watch as the season progresses.

Bostrom has no choice but to win races to make up for his slow start in FX; he slept through the first two rounds struggled with set-up problems in the early portion of the season. Now he's going to have to push hard to make any kind of run at the championship.

Finishing second, to DiSalvo, clearly, does not go down easy. You've really got to admire a rider who, when faced with finishing second and continuing to lead the championship or attempting the gnarly inside line pass in turn seven with the rear tire spinning and the bike ready to catapult him to the moon, he says screw it and goes inside.

While his pass was unsuccessful, the quasi-highside made thousands of men instinctively clutch their groins simultaneously. The New York youngster had his privates pummelled by the Yamaha's fuel tank when the bike signaled it wasn't willing to bend the laws of physics quite that far.

The next episode of Eric versus Jason is scheduled for Road America on the weekend of June 4.
