As most US-based racing news sources were aware the night of the crash, Repsol Honda rider Nick Hayden damaged his shoulder in the infamous Estoril punting he took from teammate Dani Pedrosa.
Hayden said then that his shoulder "wasn't right" but that he would not have it looked at by his surgeon until the season ended. He also wasn't keen on letting his rivals know that he was injured, hence the informal news blackout.
He will have surgery on the shoulder soon and consequently will miss the Jerez test at the end of the month.
Hayden is currently in the UK looking for a restaurant that serves food that does not resemble dog barf on a PR tour. Oh all right, the fish and chips are excellent.
