Ben Attard won his first AMA pole of the season on Friday, putting his Attack Kawasaki in top spot.

The Australian has had a good year with second places at Daytona and Mid-Ohio, but he's had bad luck at some other races and is still looking to put his definitive stamp on 2007 with a win.

"It feels awesome," said Attard of his first pole position in America. "It's a big booster for the team. On the last few races, we've found something. Pirelli has a good tire. Our race tire is good, too, but they threw us a little something special."

Attard said he'd been practicing single fast laps with his motard bike leading up to the event. "I guess it's paying off. My focus and concentration is right there at the moment and I'm determined to win one of the Formula Xtreme races.
