1. Mat Mladin, Suzuki -- Although he said he's not worried about the championship, Mladin came in needing to max out in points to have a shot. He did that at VIR, winning pole and both races. The championship has gotten very interesting with just three races to go.
2. Josh Hayes,Erion Honda -- Hayes did the double in Virginia, winning the Supersport and Formula Xtreme races in Virginia. Hayes has had an incredible run the last two years and it shows no signs of slowing down for Josh.
3. Jordan Suzuki -- Michael Jordan's team is having a great season. There has been a group of firsts this year for the team, including their first Superstock win and pole and their first Superbike podium. Aaron Yates earned the box again in Superbike on Sunday after nearly making it the day before. Yates and Jake Holden also earned the Superstock box, too.
The team also announced Yates would be back for 2008.
4. Martin Cardenas, M4 EMGO Suzuki -- It was a tale of two weekends for Cardenas. The Colombian had never been to VIR before and he was off-the-pace in the early going. He also crashed pretty big. But it all came good on Sunday and he finished second in the wild-and wooly red-flagged Supersport race. Cardenas has three podiums since he began subbing for the injured Michael Barnes.
5. Jamie Hacking, Kawasaki -- Hacking fought for the box in both Superbike races, finishing third after a great fight with Aaron Yates on Saturday and earning fourth on Sunday. Hacking and his crew have really turned their Superbike season around this summer.
Hacking is still fighting to defend his Supersport title and he closed on teammate Roger Hayden in the points by virtue of his late pass on his teammate for third place.
6. Ben Spies, Suzuki -- Spies won the Superstock race in Virginia, but he'd probably trade that win for better Superbike results any day. Spies was second to Mladin each time out.
He lost points to Mat again in Virginia, but he still has the upper hand in defending his number one plate.
7. Larry Pegram, Pegram Ducati and Marty Craggill, Boulder Ducati -- It was a great weekend for these two motorcycle racing vets. They battled for second in the FX race, with Pegram taking the spot.
Honorable Mention -- The record books will show Graves Yamaha's Josh Herrin finished way back, but the youngster ran up front in Supersport before his knee puck came off and he crashed.
The Super Seven is our very unscientific and totally subjective list of the top seven people, or groups of people, who stood out at the most recent race meeting.
