It's been an interesting week up at Dr. Art Ting's clinic in northern California.

The noted surgeon to the stars operated on not one, but two, champions this week; Dr. Ting put both Ben Spies and Nick Hayden under his magic scalpel for shoulder repair.

Spies had that old injury—the one which at times sort of made his shoulder appear if somehow a baby goat were growing under his collarbone—fixed.

Hayden, meanwhile, he had some minor clean-up done from that one day when Dani the Pee went riding without first putting his brain in. But, supposedly what Nick really got out of Ting's surgery is learning why you don't start calling people on your cell phone when you're coming out of anesthesia.

Afterwards, Ting posed with both riders.
