This week's re-run of my golf is not a sport column from 2001 generated several interesting responses, of which this may be the most notable.

It was once said (might be a paraphrase): "It's not a real sport unless you can die doing it."

If you play golf right--with the Bostroms, Miguel in the right mood, Glover in the wrong mood, KR on a festive day--you can actually die doing it. Therein lies the attraction and connection with our favorite sport of riding motorcycles like we have no sense...
