Rossi has 28 motoGP victories for Yamaha

Yamaha's 150th premier class grand prix victory came at the same track Honda got their 200th last year -- Assen. Rossi's win was a high water mark for the brand that earned their first one in 1972 with Chas Mortimer.

Since the 500GP class changed to MotoGP in 2002, our public education math skills give us the following win totals: Honda has 48 wins, Yamaha 30, Ducati 12, and Suzuki one.

The MotoGP Championships? Honda has three and Yamaha two, with 2007 still undecided.

Signing Rossi and his group of handpicked mechanics has always been considered a masterstroke for the Yamaha organization. With Valentino and crew, Yamaha has been able to reverse the Honda tide in the premier class of Grand Prix racing.

Before signing Rossi, Yamaha had two MotoGP wins -- Max Biaggi at Brno and Malaysia in 2002.

Rossi's won 28 races for Yamaha since he joined the team in 2004. That's right ... of Yamaha's 30 victories in the MotoGP era, Rossi's won 28 of them.
