The Dutch TT was an exciting race for fans of Nicky Hayden and Colin Edwards last year. The Americans fought for the win in the Netherlands. The race boiled down to a crazy last lap that saw both riders make mistakes, but Hayden took the victory while Edwards crashed.
While both riders have had disappointing seasons thus far, the recent British Brand Prix weekend saw both riders up their '07 pace. Edwards took second in the wet race. Hayden's speed was much improved after a testing breakthrough, even though he crashed out in the wet on Sunday.
A third American rider, John Hopkins, won his first MotoGP pole at Assen last year. Hopkins has experienced a solid Grand Prix season for Suzuki this season. He earned his first podium finish in China and is currently fifth in MotoGP points.
All three will be riders to watch this weekend.
