Mladin led most of the session, topping out with a lap of 1:35.622, just 0.015 ahead of Spies. That time was below the lap record of 1:35.893.

Jake Holden posted the third fastest time of the session. The Jordan Suzuki rider races on a Superstock-spec bike in the Superbike class. The one place you might expect a Superbike to do better would be Infineon, since there are a lot of turns and not many straights. The 'Stock bike circulates with a more stock suspension, 17 inch tires, etc. Another Superstock bike competitor (Geoff May) was seventh for a time before falling back to 12th as the session ended.
