Two-time AMA Superbike champion Ben Spies will test the Suzuki MotoGP bike in Malaysia in October.
"I'll ride it the day after the Grand Prix, to see how I like it. It should be fun," Spies told Superbike Planet. As for now, there are no other wild card or test rides lined up for the Texan.
Spies has expressed an interest in pursuing a MotoGP career this summer.
Ben, in Los Angeles on Tuesday, said he was drained after the weekend that saw him beat teammate Mat Mladin for the AMA Superbike crown. Spies' Sunday victory broke Mladin's six race win streak and Ben won the title by a single point.
"It was a great weekend for us," said the man who won seven Superbike races in 2007. "It was the first time all year we ran down Mat in the race and passed him. We won Superbike and Superstock so it was a good year. We accomplished what we set out to do."
Ben said he planned to celebrate his championships by heading back to Texas, hanging out with his friends, and riding motocross bikes.
