Corona Honda's Jake Holden fought with Jordan Suzuki's Aaron Yates for the win in the Fontana Superstock race, one which Holden barely held off his former teammate to win. It was Honda's first Superstock win since the class switched to 1000cc machines. Blake Young of M4 EMGO Suzuki earned third.

"I put my head down," said Holden. "I made a couple of mistakes and I knew (Yates) was gonna make a run for it in that corner." Yates made a move to the inside but Holden was able to stay in front.

Robertino Pietri of Roadracing World Suzuki led much of the race and eventually finished 4th.

Holden, who won the season finale of 2007, celebrated by yelling "rock and roll" into the microphone on the podium.
