Absurd Rumor Of The Week: No More Honda Spray Cleaner?
by dean adams
Wednesday, February 13, 2008

A friend of 'Soup recently mentioned that he's noticed a serious lack of Honda Spray Cleaner on the shelves at Honda dealerships and had also heard a rumor that Honda was no longer making the aerosol—which is omnipresent anywhere there is a motorcycle—because of California air regs.

This rumor made us stop in our tracks. Everyone uses Honda Spray Cleaner, including some even non-Honda teams. Some of them remove the label from the HSC can and put their own sticker on it (you know who you are).

Seriously, this news was not greeted with anything but shock. But a quick call down to Torrance and Honda Parts Czar Rick Mitchell calmed us down.

"Honda Spray Cleaner hasn't been discontinued," Mitchell said, acknowledging that he'd heard the same rumor. "We had a vendor issue last year and had to find a new one. The supply of Honda Spray Cleaner suffered because of that. But our new vendor is in place and producing so all Honda dealers can order all the spray cleaner they want."

Whew!
