Available now for the first time in the United States: artist Kenge Shibata's extraordinary illustration of the 1976 RCB1000 Endurance Superbike.

What is an RCB1000, you ask? Honda pulled out of most forms of roadracing in the late 1960s to concentrate on pushing the technology they gleaned in 1960s GP racing for their streetbikes (and lots of anti-technology static from the FIM didn't help). While you won't find many race entries stamped "Factory Honda" in the '70s, one place in racing that Honda did push hard was in the World Endurance series.

Meet one of the rarest and least-known—yet undeniably cool—Honda racebikes of any era: the RCB1000. This engine started life as a CB750, but by the time it hit the paddock in Europe it was powered by a 1000cc in-line four and ready for grueling run-in-any-weather multi-hour races. As a factory and works machine the RCB was raced all over the globe in the mid-to-late 1970s in endurance classes. And, as is their nature: Honda tried many different types of technologies with the RCB, including their first linked braking system, DOHC and what would one day be known as their signature Comstar wheels. Today, RCBs are among the rarest Honda race machines, with not only bikes but simply photos of these machines sometimes very difficult to find.

Printed 11.75" x 16.5" and resplendent with Shibata's usual vibrant colors and "I can smell the technology" detail, these RCB1000 prints are printed on heavyweight, acid-free, archival-quality paper and with UV-stable inks to ensure that the artwork remains as crisp and clear in the future as it is right now.

Like the other Honda prints that we offer, a copy of this '76 RCB print hangs in a Honda museum in Japan.

This is a wonderful addition to our classic Honda Superbike and GP prints, or the neat Honda streetbike prints Soup offers.
