Erion Honda's Josh Hayes was quickest in the AMA Supersport practice on Wednesday morning at Daytona International Speedway. Hayes battled with Josh Herrin and Ben Bostrom (both with Yamaha) for the fastest mark of the hour.

"We're ahead of the game where we were last year," said Hayes after practice.

Herin was the quickest Yamaha. "I felt comfortable early on but we were a little slow," said Herrin. "I picked it up towards the end and I like our setup."

Ben Bostrom was third fastest but led shortly after the session was resumed after a red flag.
