Tommy Hayden will not be racing this weekend at Infineon Raceway (Sears Point to you of the old guard) due to injuries suffered at the Fontana round. While Hayden's injuries were purported to only be a badly dislocated ankle by his camp, however in reality Hayden (29) suffered both the dislocated ankle and a broken lower tibia. Plates and screws were installed during the surgery.
Any injury can manifest itself but with the likable eldest Hayden this came at the worst possible time. Now healthy, he had come to terms with the Suzuki Superbike and was notching podium finishes.
Hayden has begun rehabilitation and is showing progress.
