The name Shobert has been missing from the grid for far too long. Former Superbike champion and multi-time dirt track national champion Bubba Shobert never raced after his infamous 1989 USGP collision with Australian Kevin Magee.

After never having roadraced in his life, the 17-year old lad did a two-day school with Freddie Spencer and has begun racing CMRA in and around Texas. He roadraced for the first time in March and won his first race last weekend at Hallet Raceway in Oklahoma.
