Fiat Yamaha's Jorge Lorenzo crashed in China on Friday, injuring both ankles in the process. The extent of his injuries is not known as the rider has been transported to the local hospital for x-rays after his highside in the opening MotoGP practice of the weekend.

It sounds like Lorenzo, who had "arm pump" surgery recently, won't ride in the afternoon session.

Lorenzo has taken to MotoGP racing quickly and won his third-ever MotoGP start in Portugal earlier this year.
