JORGE LORENZO (#99 Fiat Yamaha, pole position at 1:21.678)

Q First and foremost, to both Jorge and Casey, thank you very, very much for coming to the press conference after what happened in qualifying. I think we all really appreciate that. Thank you very much.

I really don't know where to start, Jorge. I think the first question we have to ask you: Do you think you will be fit to ride in the race tomorrow?

A I don't know. I'm quite disappointed because I was lying so quick at this track, and I was very comfortable. But anyway, I find Elias in my lap, and then after some riders, they wanted to follow some so fast rider, so I decided to slow down, and the rear tire was not enough hot to do the turn. So I crash again.

Q What injuries do you have?

A I don't know exactly name, because I am not doctor.

Q I think the collarbone?

A Yes, yes. A little section in the collarbone, and also a mini fracture in a finger, in the right foot.

Q When will you make the decision about racing tomorrow? Will it be tomorrow morning?

A No, for sure I will try in the warm-up. I will see what's happening. The foot is very bad. I have a lot of pain. But my worry is the collarbone. To be able to change direction, and ... .

Q Up 'til then, things looked so very good. You were very fast in practice. You put in a lot of laps on race tires early in the session.

A Yeah. As I said, this track I felt comfortable since the beginning, and I was - I have been able to keep a pace very quick. But anyway I did that mistake in my decision in this corner and I crashed. I am disappointed, and it's a bad thing for me, for the team and for us. But we will try tomorrow, and maybe we can do it.

Q Thank you very much for coming to the press conference.

VALENTINO ROSSI (#46 Fiat Yamaha, second quick at 1:21.845):

Q Valentino, while all this was going on, you were putting in some good laps. I think a good qualifying session for you.

A Yeah. We had some problem during today. Also from this morning we try something different for improve. But I am quite fast, but not fast enough. Have some point of the track where I don't feel confident with the bike. And so for this reason, I am happy about the second place on the last lap, because will be important, the position in the grid. But if you want to try to - we want to try to be more competitive tomorrow, and to fix some problems. So we have to work and try to improve. Also for sure tomorrow morning will be difficult in the warm-up, because is early, and usually here you have fog and not a lot of temperature.

Q A lot of crashes in the qualifying session. Did the conditions change a lot from practice on Friday, and also Saturday morning? Or was it very much the same?

A For me, the main reason is that we don't have a dual compound in the rear tire like last year. So Jorge and Casey's crash on the right side. And because also the soft tire is quite hard on the right, and when you have to try for the qualification, you have to push from the first lap. So is quite dangerous in situation like today where was not enough temperature, and maybe on the right the tire was too hard for give enough grip.

Q When you came in for the television interview, you watched the crashes on the television. It must be very hard for a rider to watch crashes like that.

A Yes. Two very bad crashes, and I hope that Casey and Jorge tomorrow are fit enough for make a good race.

Q Valentino, thank you very much.

CASEY STONER: (#1 Ducati Marlboro, third quick at 1:21.910)

Q Casey, what a session for you as well. A few problems even before the crash, wasn't there?

A Yeah, I had a couple of small problems with the steering damper. I didn't feel like it was working properly. But I think it was just a low front tire pressure just making the bike feel very strange and not right. But to be honest, all weekend the bike's been working fantastic. Even in the session today, we did our best - we did our qualifying lap time on race tires. So we're a little bit disappointed not even to get one lap in with a soft tire, which I think would have bumped us up the grid quite a long way. So unfortunately, we weren't able to do any. But a lot of it is my fault. I got held up on my lap similar to Jorge, and my tires weren't heated up enough. Basically, as I went into that corner, it was a long entry, so I thought, I had plenty of feeling all the way into the middle of the corner. I hadn't even got on the gas yet, and the back came round, and that was it. Game over. We knew the situation. We knew those tires take a little bit to warm up, and that you have to keep them going, especially on the right hand side. But yeah, these things just caught me a little bit by surprise.

Q You certainly look fit to race.

A I think we'll be all right for tomorrow. There's not too many difficulties, just a few strains here and there. I got away with it very lucky. I hurt a heck a lot of the time, but now we've felt everything out, it feels like I have just got a bit of a problem in my shoulder and my groin, but I'm pretty sure we'll give it a heck of a try tomorrow.

Q And how about the other problem, Casey? You had problems in Barcelona and Assen, and yesterday it seemed to reappear in practice. I suppose your brain and your thoughts are on other things this afternoon.

A Well, to be honest, my physio work, quite a lot with my arms from this morning's session to this afternoon, I'm still getting tired very quickly, but my arms are pumping a lot this weekend. I've never had arm pump in my life. So we worked a lot with my arms this afternoon's session, and it took a lot longer for them to pump up, which is a very good sign going into the race tomorrow. But we didn't expect this setback. We were feeling much better than we have for the last two weeks going into tomorrow, and maybe even with this crash I'm still feeling a little bit better than we did in the past races.

Q I think we all wish you well, Casey. Thank you.

Questions from the press:

Q Jorge, you had two crashes, both in the same place. Was the problem as Valentino said, or do you have some special problem in the corner?

LORENZO: Not everybody crashed, so I think is our problem. Casey's problem and my problem. But anyway, at this track, the right side of the Bridgestone was not enough good at the beginning of the practice, no? We need more laps, and was a little bit unused.

Q Jorge, Casey said that he crashed out without throttle. What about you?

LORENZO: Same for me.

Q Without throttle.

LORENZO: Yes.

Q Closed?

LORENZO: Yeah. Like in China last year.
