Superbike Planet.com is live from Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, site of this year's USGP. The weather is perfect on the Monterey Peninsula and the MotoGP stars are in town. What could be better?
Laguna Seca has a long history of hosting international motorcycle races and this iteration of the United States Grand Prix has been in continuous running since 2005, which makes this race the fifth event since MotoGP took over from World Superbike as the traditional July event in the track near Monterey, California.
Some might be surprised to learn Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca has a unique ownership. The grounds here are actually a county park. SCRAMP, the club that runs races here, is a non-profit entity that donates the profits (if any) to local charities.
Check back all weekend for news, results and photos.
