YAMAHA LEGENDS PREP FOR THE DOCTOR
Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and Kenny Roberts Sr. Take to the Track to Get Ready for the Yamaha SuperKart Exhibition
MONTEREY, Calif. (June 29, 2009) - Last Friday afternoon, June 26 at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, three Legends of Laguna Seca: Kenny Roberts Sr., Eddie Lawson, Wayne Rainey and their crews took to the track to shake down the Yamaha SuperKarts to get ready for the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix. Valentino Rossi was not able to join the practice as he was busy scoring his 100th victory in Assen, the Netherlands. The Grand Marshal, Colin Edwards, was also busy in Assen finishing fourth on his YZR-M1.
"The most uncomfortable thing I've ever driven," said Roberts. Lawson, after testing Rossi's SuperKart said "I cannot believe its perfect right out of the trailer." Rainey spent the session driving and came into the pits with a big smile on his face.
The Yamaha SuperKart Exhibition will kick off the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix on Thursday July 2 at 3:30 p.m. The SuperKart Exhibition is free and the paddock opens up to spectators at 1:00 p.m..
