More rules for the new class emerged at Assen. First, it's one bike each for the riders whereas the MotoGP guys get to keep both theirs for next year. Did anyone really imagine Rossi, Pedrosa and Stoner would go for a one-bike rule?
Moto2 also gets a control tyre, and the supplier will be Dunlop. The regulations will follow closely the system currently used in MotoGP. That is, tires will be bar-coded on Thursday, there will be set numbers of tires in two compounds front and rear, plus one wet compound, to get them through the weekend. The initial contract is for three years. The only major difference between the classes is that there will be set wheel sizes for Moto2: 3.75x17 front and 6.00x17 rear.
