Jake Zemke charged to the front from ninth qualifying position and zipped past leader Martin Cardenas, but the Colombian was able to hang with Zemke throughout the 13-lap race. The two put on quite a show, with one of the best last lap battles in Road America history. Each rider held the lead on the last lap, but Zemke was unable to keep Cardenas behind him on the final run to the flag. Each rider put in an epic performance, with hard, tire sliding racing all the way to the flag.
