When Geoff May's bike lost an engine during a wet session on Saturday morning, nearly the entire surface at Barber Motorsports Park circuit was oiled. The day's racing was in serious peril. It was somewhat reminiscent of the events that caused a race at VIR to be postponed a few years ago.
But the fine folks at Barber got out their trusty hydroseeder (used to plant grass around Barber) and some Dawn. Yes, Dawn dish washing liquid.
They sprayed the track surface with the hydroseeder and had another vehicle following and scrubbing with a brush. With help from the rain, the racing was saved.
Kudos to the Barber staff.
