With the last Grand Prix of the 2009 season happening this weekend in Valencia, Spain, crew-level silly season fault lines are beginning to form.
Possibly the biggest news thus far is that Pete Benson, who crewchief'd American Nicky Hayden to the 2006 MotoGP championship, will no longer be with Honda in 2010. Benson is currently crewchief of the Andrea Dovizioso side of the Repsol Honda squad. Where Benson intends to be working next season is unknown.
Moreover, several Fiat Yamaha technicians will be leaving the team and reportedly signing with Honda for 2010. Most of these come from Lorenzo's electronics team.
American Ben Spies bringing his own technical staff to the Tech Three Yamaha team means that several members of the current T3 MotoGP team will be shuffled over to their Moto2 project and team for next season.
