As The World (Of US Superbike) Turns

The DMG/AMA Superbike series is currently enclosed by a dense cloud of silence, with participants, fans and riders wondering what is the immediate future of the decades old two-wheeled series.

No 2010 schedule has been released as yet but rumors persist that one will be released "tomorrow"; however this has been the rumor for the past six weeks. Further rumors have the 2010 AMA Superbike series having as many as ten or as few as three rounds in 2010 with many series promoters possibly not willing to hold DMG events due to dwindling interest.

Is DMG still running the Superbike series?

"The silence from DMG is deafening," said one team manager this week. "We hear some new rumor every day. Edmondson is out--you'd like to hope that is true--or that he's been promoted and his position is solid. Or that Moto-ST has been killed. Or that there will only be three rounds next season. As time goes by, it just seems like less people care."

Infineon Raceway released their schedule yesterday and on it is a May AMA Superbike event. Today, Mid-Ohio released their schedule which includes a July 11 Superbike event.

Rumors persist that negotiations continue between the AMA and DMG which would see the AMA Superbike series ownership return to Ohio and be run by the AMA.
