Aprilia WSBK: Second Rider. Second Team?
by dean adams
Tuesday, November 24, 2009

While not yet officially confirmed by Aprilia, it seems certain that British rider Leon Camier (23) will team with Max Biaggi on the factory WSBK team in 2010. Camier rode two races for the Aprilia squad in 2009 and showed flashes of the talent that took him to the British Superbike title.

Perhaps bigger news is that Aprilia seems to be considering a second WSBK team for 2010. There are rumors that the Guandalini and Borciani Superbike teams may be merging and switching from Ducati to Aprilia machinery in 2010.

Guandalini has Jacob Smrz under contract until the end of 2010. The Marco Borciani-owned Ducati squad ran Shane Byrne in 2009, and Ruben Xaus and Max Biaggi in 2008.
