Week of Amazing Rumors Ends by dean adams

For whatever reason, this week saw some of the most outlandish and possibly baseless rumors grow like Swamp Thing and emerge walking from the 'glades.
Just a few of the more entertaining rumors:
Roger Edmondson asked for his resignation from DMG but allowed to remain at helm of Daytona's other car series, Grand Am.
Truth or Swamp thing?
Swamp Thing as far as I can determine. While there was some sort of a meeting between DMG and other stakeholders this week, possibly reps of the AMA (like, the AMA in Ohio), and just because Edmondson's resignation may be the one thing that could bring the series back together, any longtime student of DIS knows this is not how they play it in Franceville.
Next up: the AMA has officially asked DMG to stop using the "AMA Pro Racing" name because it's really not reflecting too well on them.
Truth or Swamp Thing?
Officially, no one will say on the record this is happening.
That rumor quickly followed by: Kawasaki to officially pull any and all ties from DMG. No teams, no riders, no support.
Truth or Swamp Thing?
Getting official comment from Kawasaki is difficult but sources there say that they continue to discuss a Kawasaki 250 Ninja spec class with DMG.
Yamaha to run just one Superbike and a limited number of 600s in 2010.
Truth or Swamp Thing?
Truthfully, Yamaha is still in the planning stages for their 2010 roadracing activities.
Next whopper: Michael Jordan or Team Hammer to imminently sign with BMW for 2010 and run a two or three rider team.
Truth or Swamp Thing?
Honestly, no idea, but we do know that from this moment forward, we are going to charge anyone who repeats this rumor to us $5. We've heard it at least a thousand times since July and it's just gotten to be a little much. Remember--$5.
Next, 2010 DMG Superbike schedule to include both Moroso Motorsports Park and Homestead.
Truth or Swamp Thing?
No schedule as yet but, again, who owns Homestead, anyway? (Save the Google strokes--it's Daytona)
Lastly: jaw-dropper rumor of the week--AMA to negotiate the "return of AMA Roadracing property to Ohio".
Truth or Swamp Thing?
If the cash is in the bank, then it's hard to believe that your AMA CEO, Rob Dingman, cares one whit about the current state of the AMA Superbike series and would willingly let go of his, oops, sorry, your money.
Mixed in: the usual accompaniment of Eric Bostrom comeback, Miguel DuHamel to Moto2 and AMA out at Laguna rumors.
